S=SUBSTANTIAL RISK (few western amenities, marginal medical system, political unrest sometimes present, possible infectious disease)

Pregnant women are not permitted to participate on projects rated as Intermediate, Substantial or High Risk.

Viña del Mar, Chile

The Viña Team is now in its third generation of missionaries and has recently started a second church plant in downtown Viña del Mar. The vision is to establish a strong Presbyterian denomination that will become a sending church. Teams will work with MTW missionaries in the area of church planting, which may include outreach such as VBS, teaching and training, and possible sports ministry. People with particular interest in the deaf and the blind would help complete a good team “mix,” though not absolutely essential. Spanish language skills are very helpful.

This one - two week project will give participants an opportunity to work with an MTW church plant in construction, evangelism, and teaching, and to interact with the differently enabled. The best time to visit (weather wise) is November to March, but this site is also open to U.S. summertime teams.
