Anderson, Joshua & Natalie

Serving in Japan | Acct # 10237

PERSONAL NOTE

Josh and Natalie have always loved Japan and Japanese culture, but it wasn’t until after they went on short-term trips to China and Korea that they felt a strong desire to do missions in Asia. After Josh finished up his seminary degrees from Fuller and Talbot, the specific call to Japan became clear.

God is sending the Andersons to a country where 95 percent have never heard the gospel message, 90 percent have never even met a Christian, and only 0.3 percent of the population have a personal relationship with Christ.

Japan looks good on paper—it has the world’s third-largest economy, with high employment rates, universal healthcare, and the longest life expectancy in the world; but underneath this surface image of Japan lies a county suffering from hopelessness, very high suicide rates, and idolatry.

Josh and Natalie will be working together among college students as part of a church-planting team in Chiba City, a suburb of Tokyo. Natalie also has a heart to reach out to mothers and the isolated elderly. By God’s grace, they hope to see a new gospel-oriented community come to life there.
