Drews, Bob & Sharon

Serving in Japan | Acct # 11846

PERSONAL NOTE

Bob and Sharon met while he was at the Naval Academy and she was a student at Westhampton College in Richmond, Va. Married in 1973, they spent 21 years in nomadic Navy life raising their three children. Along the way, they grew to understand their need for Christ in their lives. While stationed in Yokosuka, Japan, they developed a great love for Japan, its people, and a longing for them to know Christ. Since retiring from the Navy in 1993, Bob worked for a major corporation, and then as Officers’ Christian Fellowship staff, where he mentored and discipled Christian military officers, and Sharon discipled and trained women in personal ministry. Bob has served four churches as ruling elder, most recently at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Norfolk, Va.

Bob and Sharon assist team leaders for the MTW Japan mission, whose vision is to see the gospel transform the lives of the people in Japan and to see Christ’s Church grow. By discipling, mentoring, and teaching the ministry teams, they enable the Japanese-speaking missionaries to be more focused and effective in direct leadership and evangelism among the Japanese. Additionally, Bob and Sharon help with administrative and planning activities. Sharon engages in women’s ministry, teaching English, and participates in hospitality ministry.
