Brinkley, Elizabeth

Elizabeth was raised in Athens, Alabama, where her family actively served, supported, and prayed for missionaries. Being raised with an awareness of the work God is doing globally was formative for her call to Bulgaria. When she went to Samford University, she was selected to be a Global Missions Scholar, which would cultivate in her a personal passion for international missions. This program also allowed her the opportunity to go to Sofia, Bulgaria, to serve in The Well program for two months as an MTW intern in 2017.

The impact of this internship was so great that she returned a second time to Sofia in 2018. She interned with Daughters of Bulgaria, an organization facilitated by MTW missionaries that partners with the local church to serve sexually exploited women, with targeted efforts in prevention, intervention, and restoration. During her second internship, God solidified His call for her to return to Bulgaria, where she will serve women who have been sexually exploited.

God’s heart for love and justice compel Elizabeth as she goes to serve women who have been oppressed and forgotten. Please pray for her as she shares His love and grace in Sofia.
