Grotton, David & Danielle

Serving in Chile | Acct # 17072

PERSONAL NOTE

David and Danielle share many commonalities: growing up in Connecticut, coming to Christ in their 20s, and a call to missions, but how they arrived in Viña del Mar, Chile, is God’s story.  Danielle studied in Chile and it was the MTW Chile team who shared the gospel with her.  David, already a Christian, had begun to pursue missions, but it wasn’t until 2008, when God brought them together for His unique purpose: serving among some of Chile’s “disposable” peoples—the disabled and their families.

The Grottons’ vision is to share the gospel of grace through their work at CEMIPRE (the ministry center to the blind) and as members of a local church plant. At CEMIPRE, they provide training and spiritual, emotional, and physical support to people with disabilities and their families. Teaching braille, computer literacy classes, and Bible studies fill their days, along with mentoring, home visitations, and equipping the church to reach out to those with special needs.

In addition, David plans to use his background in logistics and people management by coordinating short-term teams and mentoring young Chilean men. Danielle’s degree in sociology allows her to mix her love of research with resourcing families.
