Polk, Jason & Liz

Serving in Ethiopia | Acct # 16180

Jason and Liz have been interested in cross-cultural ministry since living in Tanzania and Peru, respectively, their senior year at Wheaton College in 1999. After marrying in 2006, Liz earned her master’s degree in social work and became licensed as a therapist; Jason obtained a master of divinity from Covenant Seminary and served as a pastor at Grace Presbyterian Church in St. Charles, Mo.

In 2012, the Polks moved to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where they serve with Ethiopia ACT, a team of Ethiopians and expatriates committed to bringing gospel reconciliation in all areas of life to people living in urban poverty. The team cares for the profound physical, spiritual, and social needs of those living with HIV/AIDS, while also engaging in public health interventions, educational and social support to orphans and vulnerable children, and planting and strengthening Ethiopian churches across the city.

Jason works with the team’s Ethiopian leadership to oversee spiritual care and plant gospel-centered house churches in Suki and Lideta, two of the poorest neighborhoods in the city. Liz cares for their children and partners with the team’s Ethiopian social workers to care for community families. Please pray for Jason and Liz and their team as they live and share God’s gospel of healing grace.
