Fitzpatrick, Joe & Beverly

Serving in Global | Acct # 12316

PERSONAL NOTE

Joe and Bev met at New Life Presbyterian Church in Glenside, Pennsylvania, when Joe was completing a Master of Divinity at Westminster Theological Seminary and Bev was working as a nurse in Philadelphia. They married, and with a shared interest in missions, pursued opportunities overseas.

In 1999 the family joined the MTW Philippines team in Manila where Joe taught Old Testament and counseling at Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Joe also completed a D.Min. degree from Westminster Seminary. Upon hearing of ministry needs in Puerto Rico, the homeland of Joe’s mother, they relocated in 2006.

In the greater San Juan area, Joe taught in seminaries and churches of various denominations, while the family was also involved in the initial years of the first PCA church plant on the island. Joe also taught in a large church that has turned from teaching a prosperity gospel to embracing Reformed theology.

In order to extend his teaching internationally, the family has returned to the Philadelphia area where Joe is teaching short-term modules in mostly Spanish-speaking countries. He also teaches for the Seminario Reformado Latinoamericano, a PCA-born ministry that provides on-site seminary courses in 11 countries.

The Fitzpatricks have three children and one grandchild.
