PERSONAL NOTE

Quentin and Karen met at Taylor University where he studied English and she majored in social work. After graduation they married and moved to Miami, where Karen worked in a nursing home and Quentin received a master’s degree in TESOL.

 

Quentin and Karen joined MTW in 1984, and ministered as dorm parents at a missionary school in Taiwan. In 1986, they joined English Language Institute/China (ELIC) as English teachers. Then they moved to Naples, Florida, where Quentin taught high school English and finished his Ed.D. in educational leadership at the University of Miami. Quentin and Karen have been career missionaries with MTW since 1993, ministering in Beijing in cooperation with ELIC, and at Christ’s College, in Taipei, Taiwan, where Karen earned her M.Ed. in TESOL and Quentin served as college president from 2008 until 2017.

 

In 2018, they joined MTW’s Global Distance Education Team and the ministry of PS78 Teachers (ps78teachers.org) which involves encouraging and facilitating the creation of Christian day and home schools worldwide; teaching teachers to integrate faith and learning through parent and teacher workshops; and developing and implementing an online Christian teacher master’s degree program that can be offered freely to those who desire to reach the next generation.
