Susan Newkirk

Susan’s passion for missions began at age 11, when her family traveled to India to do missions work. During college she felt called to pursue missions. Susan served four years in Madrid, Spain, doing university student outreach and later teaching in a school for missionary kids through MTW. In 2003, Susan took a two-week mission’s trip with her church to Cape Town and later studied for a year at the Bible Institute of South Africa.

God then called Susan back to Cape Town to serve as the children’s ministry coordinator at Muizenberg Community Church for three years. Susan was then approached by Tokai Community Church (TCC) to lead an outreach to Westlake Village, an underprivileged community. Working on behalf of TCC, Susan coordinated children’s ministries and women’s outreach for over 13 years, eventually as part of a church plant. Susan’s responsibilities included running Bible clubs and Sunday school for children, as well as Bible studies and discipleship programs for women.

In 2024, the Lord led Susan back to the U.S., to a new ministry with PS78 Teachers (Psalm 78). As academic administrator, Susan will help enroll students in a Master of Christian Education program to help equip them to teach from a biblical worldview. She will assist student cohorts in Liberia, Uganda, Kenya, Zimbabwe, and other African nations as they navigate the online and local degree program.
