Secret “Cult”
Though Portugal is a nation where over 90 percent of the population claims to be Christian, for many, to be Portuguese is to be Catholic. Many look upon the Protestant church with disdain, and associating with it brings a sense of cultural shame. It’s viewed almost like a cult, and often gets lumped in with Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons. Today the Protestant church is also being identified with evangelical churches that preach a distorted gospel centered around money and material signs and wonders.

Upholding the Light of Truth
Despite the many cultural and spiritual challenges, God is using us to bring Portuguese men and women to a knowledge of the truth. Reformed theological education—both formal and informal—is a priority. We’ve helped plant five churches and a local Presbyterian denomination (ICPP). We’re also teaching and mentoring students at the Portuguese Bible Institute. Please pray that Portuguese believers would boldly hold up the light of truth, and that the nation’s distrust of the Protestant church would give way to a personal knowledge of our Savior.

The Coming Tide of Faith in Europe

Across Europe missionaries are watching the Spirit move with a rapidly accelerating pace as God opens door after door.

Christ Will Build His Church

Europe is the new “dark continent.” Churches are being turned into bars and museums. But does that mean the European Church is without hope?

Goliath Must Fall: Two Gospel Stories

In a hard-to-reach, largely atheistic European city, these stories declare the gospel to be "the power of God unto salvation."

Why We (Missionaries) Need Your Prayers

How amazing it was that the Lord had him praying for us at the moment when I was wishing that I could tell people to pray!

Pray for two women, Monika and Andrea, who have recently come to faith against the odds in a hard-to-reach, largely atheistic European city.

Pray for Monika, that God would continue to heal her, give her a new purpose, and protect her life from physical harm, and for Andrea, that she would grow deep roots of faith and be a witness to those like her—unlikely subjects—of the reality of the grace of God.

Pray for the Lord to raise up new missionaries and to provide financial support for recently approved missionaries.

Pray for the declining Church in Europe. Many see Europe as post-Christian and without hope. But we know that Christ will build His church.

Give thanks to God for a movement of the Spirit spreading across Europe opening doors that have been long-shut.
