THE DIVERSIFI PARTNERSHIP
Churches Sending Diverse Missionaries Together
A Strong Commitment to a Diverse Missions Force
We also believe that a diverse missions force can serve as a powerful apologetic—communicating that Christianity is not the religion of a single nation or race, but is for all people. As diverse teams of MTW missionaries minister in places where there is ethnic conflict or hostility, they are able to bring hope of reconciliation and peace as they model unity in diversity through the gospel.
Finally, the demographics of the United States are becoming more and more diverse, and we anticipate that this growing diversity will be reflected in our churches. Even now, our missions force does not reflect the ethnic diversity we already have in our denomination.
MTW’s vision is to see the gospel of the kingdom advance throughout the world. Our mission is making disciples among nations. Pursuing this vision and mission in a God-honoring, strategic, gospel-driven manner means pursuing a more diverse missions force. We need the voices, perspectives, and gifts of our African American, Asian American, and Hispanic/Latino brothers and sisters.
“Behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb … crying with a loud voice, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who sites on the throne, and to the Lamb!” — Revelation 7:9-10 (ESV)
