FAQS

Basics
What are the basics?

When is the conference?

November 10–12, 2017. The conference begins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday and concludes shortly after noon on Sunday.

Where is the conference?

Hilton Anatole, 2201 North Stemmons Freeway, Dallas, TX 75207. www.hiltonanatolehotel.com

Costs
How much does it cost to attend?

What is the registration fee?

Advance registration is closed, but walk-up registration is available in person on 11/10/17.

        General - $249
        Student - $99

What’s included in the registration fee?

The registration fee includes entrance to all general sessions, seminars, and exhibits, and a boxed lunch and buffet dinner on Saturday. Lodging is not included in the registration fee.

How much is the hotel?

Our group rate ended October 18. Please call the Anatole directly to inquire about cost: 1-800-445-8667

I can only come for a portion of the conference. How much will it cost to attend a portion?

Regrettably, there is not a partial-conference rate. You are welcome to attend only certain portions of the conference, but the rates are the same.

I plan to assist in the exhibit hall. Do I need to pay anything?

Yes. Everyone assisting in the exhibit hall must be signed up as an exhibitor and all exhibitors must register for the conference itself.

Does it cost anything for my children to attend?

Teens may register as an attendee at the student rate (while available) or at regular rates thereafter. We do not recommend that young children attend. However, if you must bring them, there will be no charge for infants. If non-infant children will be accompanying you, they should be registered at regular conference prices.

Conference promotion
How can I promote the conference?

First, thank you for helping spread the word! We have a few ideas, but do what’s natural for you.

  • Talk to people. A genuine, personal invitation is usually the most effective way to generate interest. Make plans to attend and invite others to come with you.
  • Feel free to use the promotional materials that are available on mtw.org/gmc-resources
  • Use the website. Direct people to mtw.org/gmc. In addition to registration, this is where the most current and detailed conference information can always be found.
  • Use social media. Share our posts! Follow MTW on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter @mtwglobal. Follow Park Cities Presbyterian Church on Facebook @pcpcmissions and Instagram @pcpc_mcp.
  • Use our two-minute promotional video, available to show, embed, or download.
  • Advertise! Posters and post cards can be ordered by emailing [email protected].
  • Announce it! Include a short announcement in a worship guide, bulletin, or newsletter.
Registering a group
How do I actually register everyone in my group?
  • Make sure you know who is in your group and have all the information you need before you start.
  • Allow yourself sufficient time to register your whole group together.
  • The first person registered will become the “primary” registrant. If you are registering yourself as part of the group, you will probably want to make yourself the primary registrant. In addition to each registrant, the primary registrant will also receive confirmation emails and be able to make changes for the group.
  • Answer the questions for the primary registrant.
  • When the primary registration is finished, click “add person” to continue registering group members before checking out. You may add general, student, and pre-conference only registration types in the same “group” registration—but the discount will only apply to general registrations when a minimum of six general registrations have been added.
  • When you are done, click “finished adding people” and continue with your payment.

Do I get a both a group discount and a student discount when I register a group with students?

No, you must choose one discount or the other. More importantly, the student registration will not count toward the minimum general registrants required to qualify for the group discount.

Can I register a group at the discounted price without everyone’s names?

Please be very sure you will fill all the spots before doing this (see cancellation policy). You will need to make each registration under someone’s name and transfer that registration to the actual attendee later. You will also need a unique email address for each spot. A confirmation will be sent to that address, so if you are registering someone to serve as a “placeholder” make sure they are expecting this!

Can I add someone to my group, or put someone who has already registered into my group to get a discount?

We are very sorry but previously-made registrations cannot count toward the formation of a group or receive the group discount. We offer a group discount because of efficiencies gained in handling a group.

Do I have to register online?
No. A manual registration form is available if you prefer. Contact [email protected] or 678-823-0004 x2301 to request one.

Student discount
How do I qualify for the student discount?

What is the student registration cost?

Full-time students qualify for a discounted rate of $99.

Who qualifies as a student?

If being a student your main vocation (you spend more time at school than at work), then you can use the student rate. If you’re not sure, we’ll leave it up to you.

Can students also get a group discount if we register as a group?

No, unfortunately you cannot receive both discounts. More importantly, the student registration will not count toward the minimum general registrants required to qualify for the group discount. Please determine what makes the most sense in your situation.

Unique email addresses
What if someone wants to register and does not have a unique email address?

There are many free email options such as gmail.com, yahoo.com, or outlook.com; we suggest creating a new email address to use for conference registration. If this is impossible, please contact us at [email protected] or call 678-823-0004 x2301 for other solutions.

Cancellation policy
What is your cancellation policy?

Until 7/31/17, registration costs may be refunded, minus a $25 processing fee. After this date registration is not refundable, but transferable to another person. Group member cancellation policy is the same.

Exhibit booths & sponsorship
How can I get more information about hosting an exhibit booth or sponsoring the conference?

Please contact [email protected] for exhibit booth and sponsorship information.

Lodging
What do I need to know about lodging?

Where should I stay?

The conference will be held at the Hilton Anatole where the conference is being held. The Hilton Anatole is located at 2201 North Stemmons Freeway, Dallas, TX 75207.

Where do I park?

Self-parking is available in the hotel lot: $8/day for conference overnight guests and $19/day for day use attendees. The Hilton Anatole is a large facility with multiple entrances. Conference check-in will be near the Tower Entrance.

Can I stay at other hotels?
Yes! If you do not wish to stay there, other hotels are close by in the area. Please see Google Maps for other places to stay.

Travel
What do I need to know about travel?

What airport should I fly into?

You have two airport options: Dallas Love Field (DAL) or Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW). The Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL) is six miles from the Hilton Anatole (10-minute drive). The Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is 14 miles (20-minute drive).

How do I get from the airport to the hotel?

You are responsible for arranging transportation from the airport to the hotel. Specific taxi and shuttle recommendations are available at hiltonanatolehotel.com/directions. Below are price approximations.

  • Taxi: $18 first passenger, $2 each additional passenger from DAL; $42 first passenger, $2 each additional passenger from DFW
  • Shuttle: $15 per passenger
  • Uber or Lyft service: $11 from DAL, $15 from DFW

When should I arrive?

Plan to be ready to take your seat for the opening session by 6:45 p.m. You will need to check in at the registration booth first, which will open at noon. You may also need to check into your hotel room and/or eat dinner first. Early arrivals may visit the Exhibit Hall starting at 3:00 p.m.

I'm driving. Where is the hotel located?
The Hilton Anatole is located at 2201 North Stemmons Freeway (I35-E), Dallas, Texas.

What about parking?

Parking is available at the Hilton Anatole. Hilton Anatole guests who register using the conference link receive a discounted parking rate of $8 per day. Attendees who are not staying at the Hilton may park for $19 per day.

Children/Teens
Can my children attend the conference?
Can I bring my children?
Teenage children may enjoy attending the conference. However, we do not recommend this event for young children.

Can I bring my youth group?
Youth groups are welcome to register and will attend the same conference sessions as adults.

Are activities provided for children?
No, there are no special activities nor is any childcare provided. Teens who register will attend the same conference sessions as adults.
