Thomae, David & Jan

David and Jan Thomae work with Mission to the World’s Member Care Department, supporting and encouraging MTW’s efforts to care well for every missionary. David became the director in March 2021.

David and Jan joined Mission to the World in 1988 and have experience ranging from rural Africa to urban Europe, including more than 10 years of leading member care for MTW’s Muslim-focused ministries. David’s appointment as director fulfills MTW’s longtime goal of having a missionary leading our care efforts.

The goal of good member care is that every worker will be fruitful and faithful in ministry. Good structures, compassionate support, and focused training help missionaries care for themselves well and to care for those around them. We want every missionary to be in a network of care that includes their sending church or presbytery, their MTW team, the local believers where they work, and robust resources from MTW. Please pray for David and Jan to be good learners and servant leaders as they work to further develop care for MTW’s missionary family.
