Wood, Kenton & Adriana
Serving in Mexico | Acct # 18119
Kenton, son of missionary parents in southern Mexico, trusted Jesus at an early age. He attended Wheaton College and received a B.A. and a commission as an officer in the U.S. Army. Four years later, he returned to Wheaton for graduate studies, where he met his late wife Karen, a talented vocalist in the Conservatory of Music.
They joined MTW in 1977 and first served in Ecuador with Radio HCJB. Then in 1985, the Woods joined the church-planting team in Acapulco and during the next 10 years started a church among professionals in the city.
In 1997, they were called to Guadalajara to begin a new work. As of 2023, they have established a mother church, six daughter churches, a health center, and a retirement home.
In September of 2012 the Lord called Karen home after a four-year battle with cancer. Their children are grown and gone but are walking with the Lord.
In 2015 God brought Adriana, a longtime member of the mother church, into Kenton’s life and they married. She grew up in a Roman Catholic home and is the only believer among her parents and brothers. Adriana directs the health center and enjoys counseling women.
