Migrants and refugees from around the world make their way to Europe. Many come from Muslim-majority countries. Our Muslim ministry team serving in southern Europe encounters many of these immigrants—some who hope to settle down, others who hope to make their way to other places in Europe. Many don’t have required documentation or access to basic needs such as shelter and food.
It’s estimated that roughly 200–300 migrants and refugees are living on the street or in precarious living conditions in a particular coastal town. A group has been ministering to these migrants once a week for the last several years, but we desire for someone to live closer and provide ongoing ministry services. This person or couple would lead the team’s refugee ministry in the town, organize ministry opportunities, develop partnerships with churches and volunteers, host volunteers’ visits, and mentor volunteers, short-term missionaries, or interns as needed.
Refugee ministry is an essential component in our outreach efforts in southern Europe. If you love to build relationships with underprivileged people fleeing wars, poverty, corruption and/or natural disasters around the world, and have a heart for Muslims, please prayerfully consider joining our team in southern Europe.
