Love students? Love food? Come engage in student ministry in the “Gateway to the East!”
Campuses typically have neither dining halls nor dorms and minimal recreation areas, so a large part of this ministry will be to connect with students over food at the restaurants and coffee shops surrounding each university, or on the frisbee field, or perhaps the basketball court. Students come from diverse religious backgrounds (Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu), but most simply want to be “good” and believe that any religion can do this.
As you meet and build relationships with students, you will hold Bible studies, host social times, and provide spiritual care. You will also be connected to the ministry of a local church.
Theological training is important for long-term ministry, but not necessary for short-term assignments. A background in campus ministry, such as RUF, is helpful.
