Beginning the First RUF-Global in Senegal (VIDEO)

By Tom Mills, Apr 18, 2023

MTW/RUF-Global missionaries Collin and Zury believe that the formative college years are the perfect window for sharing the gospel of Jesus. Students are leaving home, forming their identity and worldview, and preparing for the rest of their lives.

Collin and Zury saw an opportunity to make a significant impact for God’s kingdom by reaching college students in West Africa. “Senegal has a median age of 18.2 years old. Imagine the impact and the significance that that has if you are reaching young university students for Christ,” said Zury.

They have partnered with a local pastor to begin the first RUF-Global in Africa at Cheikh Anta Diop University in the center of Senegal’s capital city, Dakar. The university is home to 70,000 students who come from all over West Africa. Collin and Zury are also working alongside the Sengalese Presbyterian Church to plant a church in the city center and hope the campus ministry will feed into the church plant. They are excited for the growth of the church and God’s kingdom in West Africa.
