“Wait, Jesus is God?!”

By Staff, Nov 29, 2018

A Japanese Christian invited an MTW missionary friend in Tokyo to join her in starting a bilingual Bible study with a non-Christian friend who wanted to practice her English. Last month they read John 1 together. Later that evening, as the non-Christian woman reviewed her notes, she sent the following text message to the group: "Wait, Jesus is God?!” Her aha moment is by far the favorite text message the missionary received all month.

This week the missionary mentioned to her that there's a movie coming out about the Apostle Paul, and when she asked who he was the missionary mindlessly launched into a brief explanation. "After Jesus resurrected lots of people started becoming Christians and at first Paul persecuted them ..." The woman was quick to interrupt: "Wait a second, Jesus resurrects?"

It’s easy to forget how many people around the world know nothing about the gospel. Your gifts and prayers play such an important role in helping spread the good news to those who desperately need to hear. Thank you.
