Spend your summer assisting our expanding team in the Asian Crescent. With numerous countries, varied geographies, countless islands, and more than 1,000 languages represented across the span of the Asian Crescent, this is one of the most diverse regions in the world. Numerous religions co-exist here, including Christianity, Buddhism, and Hinduism, but in much of this area, Islam is the dominant religion.
Interns will work in two different countries over the summer. In both countries, you will be involved in outreach to unreached people. One country is a new location for us: There you will help lay the groundwork for church planting. A significant component of the work (in both places) will involve demographic studies of local college students. You will help develop the studies, gather volunteers, keep records, and report back to the team. You should also expect to get involved in the life of the community and build relationships with neighbors or local people you meet through various groups and activities. In addition, interns will participate in discussions on church planting strategy, take part in team life, and build relationships/engage in the life of the local churches.
Ideal candidates love the Church and are growing in their faith. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as networking and record keeping are important too. Our team will provide mentoring, but expects interns to be able to care for themselves, take initiative, and be comfortable working in multiple locations over the summer.
